No dial tone and can only hear faint ringing on incoming calls

My phone rings on incoming calls, but when I answer there is only the sound of continual ringing

There is no dial tone at all, from ANY phone connected to our main socket, we have tried 4 different phones, corded and cordless.

I still have internet, although it is noticably slower than normal.

Being a Small Business, this is a serious issue as customers cannot contact us, nor we them.

 

Please help!

Sounds like you need to report a fault on your landline..

 

The first check your would be asked to do is to connect your phone directly to your test socket if you have one available, and if the issue remains then you will have a fault raised to Openreach.

 

First check what type of socket you have to see if you can complete the internal checks BT will ask, you can look at this helpful video on youtube which has been posted by BT to talk you through how to test in the test socket

If you have connected into the test socket and the issue remains then you need to have a fault raised to Openreach to complete check on the external network.
