I have just moved into a flat and have had my bt services switched over from my previous place. Bt told me that the line was reconnected yesterday but I cannot get a dial tone from the master socket or the test socket, I've tried two different phones which both work in my neighbours line. An online check on the line reports everything working appropriately and so I presume it must be something on my end. The line comes from overhead, into a brown box on the side of the house, a cable goes from that into a small white box just inside the front door and a cable goes from that into the master socket. The previous tenant used virgin so I'm not sure when the line was last in working order. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on before I request an engineer visit? Thanks!
