I can't get a dialling tone on either of my home phones. I've tried to run a test with the BT troubleshooter but it gets to 99% and then won't go any further. I've tried ringing from my mobile and there is a ringing tone but the phones don't ring. The answer message cuts in after a while.

I have two. The extension used to be the master socket but the BT enigneer installed a different master socket in another room. The extension is like number 1 and the main socket is like number 7.
If you go to main socket and the front just unclips no screws. First make sure from is securely clipped in place and try phone. If still nothing then unclip the front and connect phone to socket you now see and see if that has dial tone
I've done that with two different phones and I can't get a dialling tone. I will have to call BT.
