Not able to check broadband speed via BT website

I wonder if anyone else has this problem?  We were fitted with fibre optic to the home about 2 months ago which is provided by BT, and due to some websites uploading slowly lately I went to the BT 'test my broadband speed' page and it says 'Your BT account doesn’t appear to have any BT broadband linked to it.' which seems crazy.  We definitely do!  I tried the online BT chat with one Vijay, who at first said he would solve it then said he couldn't because we are fibre optic.  He connected me with the phone fibre BT customer service line which I've just come off after waiting 59 minutes 30 seconds and had lost the will to live.

i've just tried the link instead as someone else here said that works, but this time I got a message saying, "The performance checker is currently unable to run a speed test for your broadband connection.  If the problem persists raise the issue with your service provider."  Another hour on the phone waiting - no thanks.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to find out my true speed without the help of BT as I certainly have not got anywhere with them so far.  Many thanks.

Re: Not able to check broadband speed via BT website

If the BTWholesale speed checker is not working, you could use this speed test to give you an idea of what speed you have.

If you post the results along with the results from this checker it will help others to see if you have a problem. Make sure you delete your phone number before posting.

If you have a Homehub 5 can you post the stats from 1-12 by logging onto the Homehub management pages then troubleshooting > helpdesk. http://bthomehub.home/

If you have the Smart Hub, (Homehub 6) can you go to hub manager then advanced then technical log and post the stats. http://bthomehub.home/
