Noticed a wee speed issue tonight

Go to solution

Download speedachieved during the test was - 26.1 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 12 Mbps-38.71 Mbps .
 Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 38.71 Mbps

IP Profile hasn't changed, so just a matter of waiting a few days for the speed to work it's way back up again?

There have been a few posts about low speeds today it could  be  due to network issues  due to the recent bad weather  I would just recheck tomorrow there have been a number of reported problems on the service status page https://www.bt.com/consumerFaultTracking/public/faults/tracking.do?pageId=31

@NorthstaNder: Are you running wired or wireless? That difference could be down to varying wireless conditions, or a neighbour's wireless on a conflicting channel.

Hi

That was wireless.

I ran a wired test, and got the full speed. Then I remembered that a few days ago the driver for my wifi adaptor was updated as part of a windows update.

I've just rolled the driver back and hey presto I'm back to full speeds over wifi!

That's one lesson, the other is not to use Windows supplied drivers - go for the manufacturers ones only.
