Now TV & Audio Description

Hi all,

When viewing a Now TV channel through the program guise is it possible to get Audio Description?

I know Now TV itself doesnt offer AD, but it also doesn't offer recording, which through some magic Now TV through BT does, so I'm hoping the same magic might apply to AD.

I'm leaving TalkTalk & am trying to decide between BT & Sky, my two main must haves being the ability to record non freeview channels and Audio Description.

The only magic BT do with NowTV is take the linear stream and rebroadcast it via Multicast to the EPG which enables recordings. Any Audio Descriptions would need to embedded in the source stream from NowTV, which they don't offer at the moment.

May go the same way after Christmas can't get into Netflix can't watch Now TV on demand with all the problems they got it now got

The EPG linear channels provided  are recordable on the BT TV (Youview) box  and IF the broadcaster provides Audio Description have AD.

THe EPG guide identifies which programmes have AD,

The OFCOM requirements for AD delivery on Apps differ from those for linear channels.

I think my newbie brain melted. Sorry If I'm asking the obvious here, but;

If that means that:

Watching Sky Arts on Sky = linear channel so there  might be AD

Watching Sky arts on the Now TV app = app, so no AD

Does if mean that watching Sky Arts on Mow TV through the BT EPG is linear & may have AD, or is app based & won't?

@LazyZog  Audio Descriptions aren't currently provided by NowTV so since BT are using the NowTV feed rather than the Sky feed, this would mean no Audio Descriptions until NowTV implement it. There's no issue with either the NowTV or BT TV hardware supporting it so I'd imagine that it's a software restriction at the moment.
