Hi I am a BT TV customer and I also have a Now TV box but I would like to downgrade the number of boxes that I have connected to my TV and would like to know if I can have the Now TV channels on my BT TV box without losing any of the channels that I already have like Eden and W as I cannot see these channels when I look at the channels I receive as part of the new packages.
this is the reason that I continued to have both of my boxes connected. I am paying £25 per month for my BT TV subscription at present.
Eden & W are not on the new Now TV packages, so you need both boxes. That is unless you have a Smart TV that you can download the NowTV app onto.
Couldn't he just use the Now TV app on the Youview box instead?
I don't know, I've not tried it.
If (big If), I understand the system correctly, when the user selects a program from the EPG, it hands off to the app.
Therefore if NowTV isn't working on the box then I don't suppose it will work if you launch the app outside of the EPG, but I can't test that because I would require mine not to be working to do so.
If someone out there knows that to be a load of bs then please be gentle when you correct me 😁
I believe he can sign into the Now TV app to view the channels as he would via his Now TV box. I doubt he would use the EPG on the Youview box other than to use it as a program guide reference.
There's no harm in trying, it would be interesting to find out if it does work. Let's hope he comes back to let us know
We pull in a live channel feed, if you select a NowTV channel from the EPG, there is no hand-off to the NowTV app, you are watching the live channel we pull through our network via multicast hence the ability to record that channel.
Customers who don't subscribe to NowTV via BT but directly with NowTV can still login on the NowTV App on the Youview box as they could with the NowTV app anywhere else.

Thanks @DarrenW
Much appreciated.
There have been a one or two posts recently from BT customers who have subscribed to the flexible TV packages, reporting that they can't view NowTV through their subscription but can view it by logging into NowTV direct. Given the difficulty in getting through to BT on the phone at the moment, is there anything you can do to help these people
Yes I can help, not a problem point me in the right direction
