ONT Lights

Go to solution

Hello,

I've been living in a new build home for over a month now and finally an Openreach engineer came out yesterday morning to connect the cable from the property to the cable from the ducts.

I was informed that at some point throughout the day the red 'LOS' light should turn green and it is at this point I can contact BT to order a broadband service.

I have checked again this morning at the lights are still exactly the same as they were yesterday.

Could you please advise what the static red 'LOS' light means?

Is there anything that I need to do or is this just a case of playing the everlasting waiting game?

Just to confirm there are only two lights which are lit on the ONT, static green for 'POWER' and static red for 'LOS'.

Many thanks

Once the LOS turns green you can receive a signal. Should happen some time today.

Thank you.

Hopefully this doesn't take too long then.

Just to confirm, once I have a green LOS light that is when I can contact BT to place an order?

Should I have a green 'PON' light yet or will I only get this once I have a fully working service?

Many thanks

A steady green LOS light is all you need then ring the FTTP team to place your order. 0800 587 4787

LOS = Loss Of Signal, i.e fibre not connected  to the network.
