Go to solution

I'm not interested in paying a fiver for the BT Sport app. Can someone please tell me how to opt out of having to pay for this? Many thanks.

The statement says BT will contact everyone with thier options, it doesn't start till 1st August so just sit tight for a bit.

I just opt-ed out of the new BT Sport Pack @ www.bt.com/downgrade . Bit annoyed you have to renew your Broadband for 12 months to downgrade.

Seriously? Surely you don't have to recontract to get LESS than you are getting now if downgrading?

Re: OPTING OUT!!! HOW?

I have just cancelled BT sport by dialling 150.

No impact on existing broadband contract.

Fairly painless - a small effort to sell me BT TV but easily rebuffed.

I already have BT TV  (Essentials) so am a little confused as to why they sent me an email saying it will cost me £5 to get the new channel from August.

does that mean you will no longer get sport 1 which is still free to bt broadband customers whereas downgrading still keeps sport 1

can't believe you had to recontract now

If downgrading to BT Sport Lite they are getting less channels but a larger discount (£5 larger).

If a customer doesn't want BT Sport nor BT Sport Lite they need to cancel, not downgrade.

If you have BT TV you shouldn't be charged for BT Sport. However, do you currently have BT Sport enabled on BT TV or Sky or neither?
