Just subscribed to BT Sport and am receiving error 6030 when selecting "watch now". Your error resolution page states this occurs when MS Silverlight is not installed or working correctly. But having been to the MS Silverlight support page and had it verified that it IS WORKING what other reasons are there for this error?
Currently running Windows XP SP3, with IE 8 browser. Error also appears on Google Chrome browser on the same machine.
If it's not broken, why would I need to apply a fix? The Microsoft Silverlight verification site reports the latest version as being installed and working.
And just to ensure that the Microsoft utility isn't telling porkies, video streaming utilising Silverlight works absolutely fine from this site http://www.iis.net/media/experiencesmoothstreaming.
So BT what is the problem with your video player? Is there any more illuminating information around the 6030 error code that might actually help?
This is exactly the same problem that I am having, I too have checked the Microsoft utility using the site http://www.iis.net/media/experiencesmoothstreaming. and it's fine. Am at a loss now what to do next, have tried the help line number and it just rings and rings - obviously there are severe problems with BT Sport - I have given up!!
I have the same problem but the following information suggests this may not be a BT issue (it still might be of course and as several folk I have spoken to also have the same problem - maybe BT could help us find a fix even if it is nmot their fault)
All machines never had Silverlight installed before BT Sport came along
At home on BT wireless router as a constant
Old emachines pc, 2mb ram, 3gh processor, originally installed with XP sp2 now upgraded to sp3 with a Belkin wireless usb dongle and Microsoft essentials AV has this exact problem.
Old IBM laptop with 2mb ram dual 1.7 processors originally installed with XP sp2 now upgraded to sp3 built-in wireless and Microsoft essentials AV does not have this problem all works fine
At work cat5 hard wired
Old (soon to be new thankfully) Dell desktop 2mb ram 2.8gh processor originally installed with XP sp2 now upgraded to sp3 with Sophos AV does not have this problem all works fine
Any suggestions welcome
