I need some advice... after 6 attempts and 8 weeks from trying to get a bt line and b/b installed still nothing.
The problem appears to be that I keep getting allocated a barrhead area number (0141 881 ****), even though the area I live in (pollokshields) starts (0141 423 ****)
The first engineer that actually turned up said he could not connect to this exchange as he would not be allowed due to the distance from the property. He said the only way to resolve it is to cancel and re-order the phone line with a number from the correct area exchange.
Several attempt later its always an 0141 881 number that is allocated.
I spoke with order management who said they have spoken with openreach, and that open reach have said they cannot issue a 0141 423 number as the number for this property has been allocated elsewhere.
What I dont understand is that if this is the case - are there no more 423 or 422 or 424 numbers available? or what about all the surrounding area codes 632 or 649 etc??
Why an area code and exchange that is approx 8 miles away?
What will my internet speed be like - non existent I'd imagine.
Currently im awaiting an engineer on the 25th march, but I am expecting the same outcome - no connection
Anyone any thoughts?
