Morning All - I had an enigineer out on Saturday that sorted a noisy line out for me. The errors are negligble now. As of this morning the speed doesn't seem to want to shift from 4064 despite having a higher attainable rate. Not sure if they've had the line reset to day 0. Would it be possible to optomise the line & start the re-training period again. Thanks
It will normally sort itself out within 10 days, provided you do not disconnect or reset the router. It usually happens quite quickly on an ADSL connection, especially if there is no long term history of a bad connection.
If its not sorted itself out after 10 days, then a moderator can be asked to assist.
Hi - Thanks...
Hi - I've had several tests done on my line today due to a high resistance fault. As a result I've had 5 disconnects & the tests have created 100's of errors. In these circumstances, is it possible to re-optimise the line please? My speed has dropped down to 3904. Thanks..
unless your line is stable a reset is pointless as you will just end up back in same position post router stats when you can show 3+ days stable internet connection and maybe mods will help but need stable connection first
Hi - This isn't a criticism, merely an observation. Why is it so difficult to get a re-optimisation done? My previous ISP went through their forum posts in the morning & if there was any requests for a re-optimisation, it was done as requested. I'm not sure what powers the BT mod's have but my previous ISP could do tests, check your errors & re-set your line if necessary. I would imagine it's just a press of a button & can't see a problem it being done on request, if somebody needs it. 😀
Why should I have to wait 3 days for something that was created by the tests that were done today. I'm being made to pay for a something that wasn't of my own doing. The HR fault should have been fixed on Saturday & wasn't, hence my call to report it this morning.
As @Keith_Beddoe @said your connection should sort itself out given stable connection for 7/10 days
as I said bt don't normally do manual reset until line is stable otherwise it is pointless. Post your router stats
Hi - I'm just trying to understand why it's difficult to do a re-optimise of the line. Like I said, I imagine it's just a press of a button. Due to all the tests, disconnects & the errors created by the tests, I think I've justified the re-set. I guess the mod's can check that those tests have indeed been carried out & I'm not just blagging a re-set because I can.
It's not fault I'm on the wrong copper service nor am I fault because an error that should have been fixed on Sat wasn't. I would like to think BT would be more than happy to help instead of it making it like a seemingly impossible task 😀
can you post router stats
at present you don't know if you have a stable connection or not
Hi - I'm not sure what bit you want to see. This is my errors for the day. 99% of the errors have been generated by the tests done this morning. I've had 5 disconnects this morning due to the tests. Correction, 3 disconnects..
