PC always assigned USA IP address

Go to solution

Is there anyway around this?

When I boot my pc without fail I get allocated a USA IP address owned by the ISP CloudIP LLC (c/o MicFo LLC).

This is really annoying as when I google I get yank results. Its **bleep**.

This is weird as my router states a UK IP address. How the heck is my PC not showing the router public IP!!??

All I have as a fix is to disconnect and reconnect router the from broadband via the console and reboot the pc THEN and only then does it have the router public address.

Its really bizarre.

Hi, welcome to the forums.

When you type :-

whats my ip

into google, what are the first couple of octets showing?

(I assume you're not using a VPN ...)

This is a typical offender: https://www.ipqualityscore.com/free-ip-lookup-proxy-vpn-test/lookup/104.243.210.230

And that is when my router is using something UK, 35. or 87.

I use NordVPN on tablet and phone but those have never experienced this issue when disconnected from it.

Your PC should be getting a private IP address not a public one. Why would you expect your PC to show your router's public IP?

I (everyone) gets a private IP address on the local LAN from DHCP but all browsing shows the public broadband address

So you're not using a VPN on your PC, which is odd if you're getting the IP address indicated above.

As I mentioned, what does google show when you type in

whats my ip

does it show 104.243 etc?
