I signed up to Infinity nearly 2 months ago, and all I've had is a speed not even a 1/10 of what I was promised. However, because I've had an engineer visit and improve the speed a tiny little bit I'm unable to terminate my contract! Apparently, when BT advised me I would get between 29Mb and 35Mb, they wasn't aware that my connection runs through a telegraph pole.
So I'm now having to use a friends connection just to post this message due to my appalling speed! Can someone from BT kindly tell me why I can't end my Infinity contract early? I'm paying for up to 40Mb and so far I haven't even seen a third of 1Mb!
I want my contract cancelled without any fees, or I want a coaxial cable laying between my house and the pole! I know that this is an up to service, so I wouldn't get the headline speed. But this is appaling, I can't do anything online because of this! Complete utter cr4p
Links are below as I can't insert them as it won't load!

Hi and welcome
Having overhead wires on poles is no reason why Infinity is not performing many thousands of customers are connected like this.
I would contact the forum mods using this link http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951 as they can take a look at your account and advise but they are busy so allow them three days or so.
When the engineer did the install he should have got a minimum speed on a wired pc of 15 Mbps or the install should have been aborted so something is strange.
If the system really cannot deliver a signal to the router I am sure you will be able to cancel as BT will be in clear breach of contract but you may have to use the formal complaints channel but leave that until the mods have looked into your case.
