Paused TV, won't then fast forward or rewind.

If I pause the TV for a significant amount, an hour say
, I then carry on watching, while fast forwarding occasionally. It works at first but then just sticks, as in it carries on playing but can't be fast forwarded rewound or paused again. It's pretty annoying.

Is there a way to update the box or something...?

I had live pause problems simmilar to this, have you tried power cycling the box ? Seemed to fix it in my case although I don't normally pause things for as long as an hour.
