Peak time connection issues. Not the usual.

For the last week or so I've had issues with my download speed in the late afternoon and Evening and late Evening.

My line should allow I think max 7.5 mbps. But usually in the evenings I get around 4-5mbps.

In the last week or so it has dropped to as low as 0.02 mbps. Averaging at about 0.45 ish.

I spoke to india and the man reading from the script on his PC eventually spoke to his supervisor, sho said I needed to have my "IP Profile" reset.

This was Yesterday, and my conection is still terrible/unusable.

Could somebody look into this please.

I ran a test on speedtest.bt.com, and got the following...

" Download speed achieved during the test was - 0.08 Mbps For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.6 Mbps-7.15 Mbps. Additional Information: Your DSL Connection Rate :7.97 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM) IP Profile for your line is - 7 Mbps"

As much as I try, I cannot get the third part of the test to work, it gets to 96% then always gives me an error.

Just to add, my parents who live 1 mile down the road, and share the same exchange and have BT Broadband, are having no issues.

Re: Peak time connection issues. Not the usual.

If it is exchange congestion, how come my parents 1 mile down the road using the same exchange and BT broadband are having no issues and gettting normal speeds?

Re: Peak time connection issues. Not the usual.

I see. Thanks.

Is this fixable? How do I go about getting this sorted. Not sure I can bare another call to India.

The low speeds have been like this for about a week now, but I suppose I can post up some more over the next 24 hours. Like I say, it's late afternoon, evening and late evening. The mornings it seems fine.

OK, here's todays speedtest. 9.20 am and my conection still sucks. Strange for a morning, as it was ok during the week in the morning, maybe because it's saturday?
