I have recently moved house and brought my BT Services (Infinity and Phone Line) with me to the new property.
On Friday 22nd of February an Engineer came out and did the usual swap over of the face plate for the Infinity setup (ADSL Cable direct into faceplate and phone lead out from middle).
Before coming to the new property the BT Engineer actually called me and said "Has your phone line been connected yet?" Obviously I said "I don't know - I havent tested it" his response was "It doesn't look like its actually been connected - I'll be there shortly to sort your Internet".
I thought this a bit odd but carried on moving in and he arrived at the door 15 minutes later - we had a chat, he swapped the face plate over and I tested the Internet on my mobile as I had nothing else plugged in at that time - all works fine.
Before he left he mentioned that if the phone line hadn't been connected by the afternoon give them a call and they'll sort it.
Before I knew it, it was the evening so I went on live chat hoping for a speedy solution, I explained my problem in full, referencing that an actual Engineer had said it wasn't connected at the exchange. They did the normal, try a corded phone etc.
Now I may have done the wrong thing but it had been a long day and the person on the end of the live chat "Have you tried anothing ADSL filter?" I thought this odd as with Infinity it's built into the faceplate so I explained I was on Infinity and I don't have a filter, to which their response was "You must do, if you don't diagnose this correctly and an engineer is sent out you'll get charged" I lost my temper and closed my laptop.
Now it's been 2 and a half days and still no phone line.
The only thing I can think of is that my phone server hasn't been transferred from my old house as when ringing my land line you get a perfectly normal ringing tone. But at the new property - no dial tone at all, after testing on multiple phones.
Could anyone here give me a hand with this? Or am I going to have to cope with the Tech Staff at BT?
