Sorry I should be more specific.
I was able to change DNS on all my devices like phone and iPad.
Not changing the hub.

That may not be as effective, but if you do change DNS settings on a device, you would have to flush out the old cached values afterwards.

I do not use a home hub, so I can change my DNS settings to OpenDNS. My wife looks at Pinterest quite a lot, and has no problems with missing images.

If you want full control of everything, then yes.

The one I use gives you control of everything, plus lots of other features, and only cost £30.

There are plenty of other forum members using it as well.

You can use the OpenDNS settings, or even Google Public DNS if you want.

Full information, including all the configuration options, are on my website.

Its worth a try.

To be honest, 5G is possibly a waste of time, unless most of your devices support it. It also has very limited range.

I also noticed that you cannot configure the firewall on the AC1900, which is odd, as you can on the W9970?

Unless I am missing something when I look at the emulator?

Yeah i've notice most of my devices seems to support 5ghz so that's the reason i want it.

And hopefully with this new router the cover range could be wider.

Oh i didnt notice that part yet tbh, would def look into that once i received it!

The external aerial array should be quite efficient, so you will have to see how it goes. The 9970 that I have, covers the whole house on 2.4G, so the AC1900 should be just fine.

The firewall issue is not a major problem, as its going to be enabled by default. Its just that I use the firewall settings on the 9970, to control OpenDNS restrictions and to block certain hosts.

Final solution: Change the router.

Today i change my BTsmarthub to TP-Link Archer VR900.

After following the quick installation guide for Archer VR900, all my devices load pics on Pinterest successfully!!

(i don't even need to change my DNS)

Thank @Keith_Beddoe and @Liam_ for your supports!
