Poor connection AND alot of dropping of connection

I recently moved house and i was very happy with bt at my old one never had a problem but now i have very poor connection and slow speeds i cant play online games as i get so much lag, ive waited almost 3 weeks now to see if the problem would sort itself as of the training in of the hub.

Things ive done to try to improve:

Forwarded ports for games

New filters,

Plugged in test port

Nothing eles is on the line except phone

I have a brand new high performance laptop

Quiet line test was fine

Changed router channels

Ran bt speed test and it cant retrieve my details properly but claims everything is good (it is not at all)

here is some details:

Re: Poor connection AND alot of dropping of connection

were the stats posted from the test socket?  you have a lot of crc/hec errors which could be causing a low throughput particularly at night when noise margin probably drops a bit lower

please can you try btspeedtester again

Re: Poor connection AND alot of dropping of connection

Hi Wolfy,

From your adsl stats your line attenuation is 51.5dB which would make your landline approx. 3.7Km long between your property and the local exchange.

On a good quality line with a line attenuation of 51dB I would have estimated a downstream speed of around 4mbps to 4.7mbps.

Your currently synced at 4.7mbps on ADSL2 which is good for your line length.

Edit: now your currently synced at about 5.1mbps on ADSL2 which is good for your line length.

As imjolly has said, keep an eye on the errors and noise margin during the night/evening.

However at the moment the errors don't seem to be causing an issue with your throughput speed.

Your line latency is currently set as Fast, if the DLM thinks there are too many errors on your line it will probably set it to Interleaved.

Also the BT Wholesale speedtester is http://speedtest.btwholesale.com

Cheers
