Re: Poor speed considering

That sounds like it could be the reason. Though without knowing what caused the noise, it leaves me a little bemused.

Is it possible using my own router caused this? For the first 4 days I ran an Asus RT-N56U.

I assume the DLM is automated, in which case, is it possible to reset it manually?

I am now back using the HH3 which has brought my upload close to sync speeds as opposed to 1xxx kbps on the Asus

Re: Poor speed considering

unless it drops below the service minimum Openreach will not normally reset it they normally wait for it to stabilise automatically I would personally just leave every thing as it is and let it sort its self out

Re: Poor speed considering

Thanks John,

I will leave it as you say and see if there is any improvement over the week.

I could try to find out a bit more about DLM and how it works. I would be quite upset stuck using the homehub as the n56u is a much more accomplished router.

Re: Poor speed considering

Is that your IP Profile or some random speed test?

Re: Poor speed considering

BT's fttc test, the profile is the same as yesterday.

Does it matter? Surely the actual speed is more important

Re: Poor speed considering

I say "random" because they all give different results, however the IP Profile is an indicator of what is actually going on - in the absence of real line stats, which BT choose to keep secret (just to make it interesting, I suppose).

Re: Poor speed considering

@dizzibits  You'll probably find your real upload speed is much faster than the BT speedtester says.  Try http://mcslhr.visualware.com/myspeed/myspeed_line_capspeed.html.
