I've had infinity 2 for 5 days or so.
When it first was installed I got 75 down 16 up and 12ms ping
3 days later and since, Its been 60 down 15 or 1-2 up and 25ms ping.
Today, I decided to change the firmware on the modem to discover the line stats and it shows my profile as 19000kpbs up and 63xxx down. When it should be 20000/80000.
I am around 50m away from the cabinet. I can see it from my window. I should be getting the full 80000kbps.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Unfortunately speeds do vary. My quoted speed was 63/20, I actually achieve 43/13 on a line length of 100m.
You must just have a poor line like mine. It's not really possible for OR to just replace lines just on the bias of poor performance.
I don't think its a poor line. My max attainable is 130xxx kbps. My ip profile is simply set near 20mbps lower than it should be on infinity 2
The profiles for the 80MB package are 76/19, so these will be the max attainable rates that anyone can achieve on Infinity 2.
As shown here which should be on your B.T Account.
This picture is Webby's (another member on the forum), i hope you don't mind me using it buddy 😉
Have you tried contacting tech support and raising a fault? 0800 111 4567.
I would take 76/19 all day long.
# xdslcmd info --pbParams
xdslcmd: ADSL driver and PHY status
Retrain Reason: 0
Max: Upstream rate = 28025 Kbps, Downstream rate = 122644 Kbps
Path: 0, Upstream rate = 16997 Kbps, Downstream rate = 54985 Kbps
Though the upload consistently falls and stays below 13xx kbps unless I reboot/reset etc
If your true line length is only 50m, you should be getting full speed 80/20.
I'm 300m from the cab, and used to get 72Mb, and 18Mb up for about a month, but those days ended, I'm now on sub 50, and 9.5 up due to the Aluminum cable.
I promise promise its around 50m, I can see the cab from my window.
Do I have aluminium cable too?
After the 10 days is up I'm going to keep at them until I am synced properly.
