Port Forwarding HH 5 Type A

Hello Everyone,

 

As some of you will know from my previous post: https://community.bt.com/t5/Other-Broadband-Discussions/Stuck-on-4-7-5-1-83-8-173-1-6-HH-5A/td-p/149...

 

My Home Hub 5 is stuck on an older Firmware version.

 

Can anyone confirm if Port Forwarding works on the current latest firmware? This is for the Home Hub 5 - Type A.

 

I had a Home Hub 3 Type A. Also where port forwarding is broken.


I'm attempting to port forward using a static ip. Which I've read is more reliable than doing so by Device Name. However, no matter what I try, no luck. I've made sure no other firewall is getting in the way.

 

I'm keeping my fingers crossed this is still not an issue for HH 5 users. But the evidence in front of me is concerning...

Have you turned off UPnP?

Is a reboot of the router required, once this is done?

Hello Keith,

 

Thank you for the link to that guide. I had read it, when I had all the issues with the Home Hub 3A.

 

I had assigned a manual IP, in Windows. It wasn't outside of the DHCP range. Thankfully I have the latest firmware now, and all seems ok. 🙂
