I am trying to use the port forwarding feature for my Home Hub 5 to remove the moderate NAT type on my Xbox's (I could mention BT's abysmal router design causing issues for MILLIONS of xbox owners at this point, but this company couldn't care less).
My specific issue is that, for reasons unbeknown to me, I am completely unable to remove any currently configured games/applications because they are not visible anywhere. This of course is preventing me from performing port forwarding for Xbox live. I receive this message:
'The game or application you’ve selected conflicts with an application () you’ve already assigned to another device.
Please remove the other application or select the same device.'
So, how do I solve this issue? I have reset/ wiped the router multiple times, all to no avail.
P.S Despite the appauling design of the homehub5, BT will not give me the new smarthub 6 foc. Tbh though, I have no idea if even that would resolve my issues.
Someone at BT needs to contact me and authorize a new router to be sent.
Hi,
Treat yourself to a proper third party modem/router and save yourself a lot of grief.
Welcome to this user forum.
This is a common issue.
Please do the following to resolve this issue.
Make sure the Xbox is turned off.
Reset the home hub to factory default.
Disable uPnP on the home hub, this is very important.
Turn off Smart Setup
Turn the Xbox back on, and then configure your port forwarding rules.
Its uPnP which is causing the conflict because the Xbox is sending portmap commands to the home hub, which are conflicting with your manual assignment.
Thanks. I will try that the first chance I get.
I've been able to create a new application, but the previous port forwarding I've used for years is no longer working.
Over these past years I've always had to power off my 360 and re-apply the settings, turn back on the 360, to open the NAT again. Then it simply stopped working.
Would a SmartHub 6 solve this issue?
The smart hub 6 will cause far more problems than it will solve!!!
Actually, the HomeHub 6, after 8 weeks, appears to have completely solved my NAT issues!
