Port forwarding on Home Hub 5

Go to solution

I am currently remote accessing a webcam and NAS on my network. I have created two domains at no-ip to point at these and can access them via the following links (I've changed the real names for security reasons)

domain1.com:3232     (for the webcam)

domain2.com:8081 (for the NAS)

Now this works perfectly but I noticed that if I put just the domains without the ports it connects straight to my BT router page.

1. Is this normal?

2. Is there any way I can stop it doing that?

Many thanks

Mike

Welcome to this user forum.

If you are testing from your internal network, then it would show your home hub page, but you would not be able to see it from a remote Internet connection, unless you had mapped port 80 to your hub address (192.168.1.254)

Thanks Keith; I didn't realise that.
