Porting issues from O2 to BT mobile

Hello. I have just ported today from O2 to BT mobile. My number has moved across but for some reason i can't receive calls to my new phone.  My O2 sim and phone are receiving calls. I can make calls from my BT mobile. Texts are also only being received on my O2 sim and not on my BT one.

Any advice? 

I have reset phones a number of times and changed the number in settings on my new BT phone.

If the number port was meant to occur today, please wait until tomorrow and see if the issues are still occurring.

Ok I’ll give it till tomorrow. Odd how on the only thing not working is receiving calls and texts. Maybe it has something to do with my O2 sim still being active.

You should have got up to 3 text messages from BT to apply their settings to your new SIM/phone, did you get them and if so which phone were they received on

I have only received 2 text messages from BT which have appeared on my old O2 sim and phone.  No texts on my BT sim and new phone.

one yesterday saying:

Hello, BT here. We'll move your mobile number (********) to us on 08/01/2020. It'll replace the number you got when you signed up.

one today saying:

Hello, BT here. We've moved your mobile number (*******) to us. It should work straight away, but if you have any problems, try turning your device off and on again. For more help go to bt.com/help/mobile

Try putting your BT SIM in your old phone and leave it switched on. 

I presume your new BT SIM came with its own number, this should die when the number port takes affect, try calling this number from another phone to prove the number port is successful (i.e. make sure the BT number doesn't work)

I called the BT temp number that came with the Sim and it just goes to a dead tone. I presume that means the port is successful. Maybe until O2 switch off from their end I can’t receive calls and texts?

Unlikely. Did you put BT SIM in your old phone?

If so switch phone off and restart then wait, it can take a while so just try ringing your O2 number once every 30 mins or so until it works

So I put my BT sim in my O2 phone and called my temp BT number and it went to a dead tone.

Ok, so the BT number has been switched off, now it should just be a case of waiting for the O2 number to be ported

Did you get any text messages from BT on either phone at the start of the number port
