Power Supply for Home Hub3

Hi... trying to reduce the number of cables and free up a power socket...
I have a home hub 3 and a modem with Infinity and notice they run from separate 12v power supplies.  Is is possible to just use one 12v supply, say to the modem and chain from there onto the hub3?
Cheers! Smiley

Re: Power Supply for Home Hub3

It depends on wether the OR modem and the HH3 use the same amps levels.
I do not know the levels but the labels on the back of each device usually states the voltage [DC] and required milliamp levels.
But even if they are the same [not likely] the risk of overloading the PS that you chose is likely.

Also if by chaining you mean cutting and joining an extra 12v cable into one of the PS`s cables,BT might not like that as they own the PS`s.

Ok that makes sense, DIY could be a bit dodgy!.  It would be helpful (well for me anyway!) if BT supplied a single power supply for Infinitiy installations.  Thanks for the reply.Smiley Happy

Re: Power Supply for Home Hub3

And the HH3 Type A & B have different power sockets on the rear!
