Power light orange and BB light flashing Red on HH4 - Infinity 2...?

Guys,

It's been like this for 48 hours now, called India and they recorded a fault which was sent to higher team to deal with which they have been in touch with me regarding the fault. An engineer is booked for this Monday to come and try to fix the problem.

BT say there seems to be no issue at the exchange from their tests. I have reset the HH4 and modem. The modem has the 3 lights solid green at all times and no issues there it seems.

I have tried and old HH3 I have to see if the problem is from the router but the broadband light on the HH3 just goes orange too. Swapped Ethernet red cables that go from the router to modem, nothing same flashing BB light on HH4.

Any ideas please anyone!!!! We are going nuts with no Internet at home and we still have till Monday to wait for an engineer.

I have been with BT Infinity since June only 3 months and this happens! Was with O2 for 5 years and not one issue!!!! 😞

Managed to find BT wifi hotspot lol dunno how but it's very sloowwwww! Does this help from the FIREWALL STATS: Event Log This page summarises all the recent events that have been recorded on your BT Home Hub. You can filter the events to show items related to a specific category. Category Recorded events Time and date Message 02:24:12, 12 Sep. Re: Power light orange and BB light flashing Red on HH4 - Infinity 2...?

Try a direct connection to the modem.

UrbanGrunt came up with a step by step guide.

Step 1: Remove the homehub from the modem

Step2: Connect your pc/laptop into the modem using LAN1 port (LAN2 is disabled and not in use)

Step3: Open network and sharing centre on windows and click set up a new connection or network

Step4:  Connect to the internet (the top option) then click make a new connection Broadband PPPoE

Step5:  Username Internet@btbroadband.com and the password as broadband

Step6: connect, for some reason it may say that it cannot connect, just keep pressing try again if this happens and it will eventually connect.

If you can connect OK then the HH4 is at fault, if not the problem is either with your modem or between you and the cab.

Re: Power light orange and BB light flashing Red on HH4 - Infinity 2...?

Cheers mate but like I said the new HH3 goes orange too so it does not seem to be HH issue.

Thanks anyway!

Could be a cable problem. I recommend you try the direct modem connection, you may get to see an error message.

Re: Power light orange and BB light flashing Red on HH4 - Infinity 2...?

I do not have a lap top, just iPad, iMac and a PC desktop. My router is downstairs in the master socket living room so will be too hard to get the PC downstairs as its all set up etc 😞

How does the PC desktop connect to the Homehub?
