Powerline adaptor - Hotspot 500 kit compatibility with Simpler Networks HP200PT64BT

I have a new BT Hotspot 500 kit and am having problems connecting my older Simpler Networks HP200PT64BT passthrough to the new network. The new kit works well but I would like to add another connection to the network by reusing one of my old simpler networks adaptors. I am having no luck. Are these compatible? Am I doing something wrong? Any assistance would be appreciated.

While all makes and types of powerline adaptors are meant to work together they rarely do. I would also not mix a 200 Mbps adaptor with a 500Mbps adaptor. It will drag your speeds down to the slowest adaptors rate. I would just buy a new 500 adaptor which should work without problem.
