Hi guys. I have a pair of powerline adapters coming tomorrow which will be used with my Hub 5 on Infinity 1. I'm currently thinking of placement, and contemplating the best place in my sitting room to site them for accessibility.
What is the maximum ethernet cable length recommended for using them? Also, is there any particular category etc of ethernet cable I should be purchasing or are they all the same specs?
Many thanks guys, you've all been of great help as I explore the new possibilities of Infinity.

If you are using powerline adaptors you probably won't need to worry about length of Ethernet cable. The maximum for Ethernet is about 100metres, but I suspect you will only be using short leads. Cat 5 will be fine.
Ethernet can be used up to 100 meters in length so you should have no problem using it in conjunction with your powerline adaptors in a conventional house.
You should use at least CAT5e cable or CAT6.
All set up now and I must say I'm more than impressed with the move to powerlines from wireless.
Good to hear, which ones did you get?
Edit. Just noticed your other post, Devolo have a good reputation.
