Re: SGAB205018 Wont Pass DHCP to clients..... how do I FORCE Bridge mode and standard AP functionali

I've raised a call with BT for the same issue.  Reboots every day or so.

They asked me to switch various things off but didn't make a difference.  My case is Joe with 2nd line support and I've sent them the advanced log.

Re: SGAB205018 Wont Pass DHCP to clients..... how do I FORCE Bridge mode and standard AP functionali

I got a response from 2nd line:

We are continuing investigating this issue but believe it will be resolved in the next release of firmware.

Unfortunately we do not have a fixed date for the release but I will keep you updated on when this firmware will be available.

In the meantime, as a temporary work around, when you see this issue if you can complete a factory reset this should clear the problem and get back up and running.

I've replied as this is not acceptable - having to factory reset every few days is shocking, and this thread shows that there is no idea on when the firmware will be available - been over six months so far where this firmware has been eluded to.

Hahahaha...that is the same standard response I have been getting off them since last year.

I think it's about time the Mods actually helped the community and got us some more info?

Never mind info, need new firmware!! We had these type issues with the original discs but they managed to get a lot of issues ironed out eventually but this is getting embarrassing how long its taken to push a new firmware to at least fix some issues.

Come on guys pull your finger out!!

Sadly it's obvious now that this ain't happening. I have called the 0808 number from the app as I am trying to get a returns number so I can move on from this utter mess! I suggest everyone else try and do the same.

Re: SGAB205018 Wont Pass DHCP to clients..... how do I FORCE Bridge mode and standard AP functionali

As I've already said in another thread, I think BT have cut their losses and abandoned this product. I'm not sure it has a USP in the market anymore. Higher end devices are supporting Wi-Fi 6 end points and you may have seen other manufacturers announcing mesh systems supporting a Wi-Fi 6E backbone (6 GHz non-DFS channels). The lower end BT mesh systems seem more stable and fulfil entry level requirements which leaves the WHP dead in the water. RIP !

It appears that I am now also being ignored by the Help Desk. This has been a horrendous experience.

12 months passed since the last firmware update on my original discs & no news regarding any new release (although they do work well for me)

and now the same for the premium discs that are really in not fit for purpose, it would be great if a moderator could confirm if any update are in the pipeline or if this project has indeed been dropped!!!

They won't reply. They don't care mate, the product has been dropped as they are obviously incapable of fixing the issues.

Re: SGAB205018 Wont Pass DHCP to clients..... how do I FORCE Bridge mode and standard AP functionali

Hi All,

We wanted to reassure our customers that the BT Premium Whole Home Wifi product continues to be actively supported and a new firmware version and updated app are currently completing the final stages of testing. We recognise that it has been a while since we last updated you about new software but pending no major issues with the pre-launch testing, our target is to make them both available next month.

As soon as the firmware has completed testing, it will be available via the Early Adopter programme and will be announced on this forum.

Thanks
DanielS
