Hi
I changed over from talktalk to BT in October, and to be honest I have not liked my broadband speed from BT. I haven't changed anything apart from now using a HH3 instead of my old netgear router. I used to get constantly great speeds with TT, nearly my full quota, all the time.....
Now with BT it seems more often than not I get really rubbish/poor speeds. See information below. Speed test taken at 18.00 tonight, I will do another again tomorrow morning.

Router settings taken around same time as follows ( I do admit to having to reset the HH3 pretty every day as the BB just becomes unusable otherwise. I will try and leave it alone for a few days regardless, and post something more at the weekend.
I have tried a master socket test and also the quiet test as well...

I am beginning to regret ever leaving TT, I never had such problems in over 3 years with them.....
Thanks

you have a very large number of errors for just 2+hrs connected. I note you used the master socket but did you try the test socket to see if that makes any improvement. this will help if you have other sockets apart from the master
Just done 2nd speed test at 09.30 this morning. Router results below as well, done at same time. I will look into the whole test socket thing today if I can.

your download speed is back to normal. As it is off peak and low speed was at peak that is pointing to a congestion issue at the exchange. look forward to seeing stats if you change to test socket as very large number of errors for only 12hrs connected
Silly question I expect, but I am going to do the test socket "test". When I plug a standard phone into the test socket and do a quiet test this is all fine, plugging in the same phone into the master socket produces same results although doesn't appear as quiet (no crackling, just not dead quite).....
My question is as I cant connect my pc to the router whilst doing the test socket test (lots of tests here, lol), could I do it wirelessly using my laptop, or should I connect laptop to router with the ethernet cable?
Thanks
I use wireless for my btspeedtester tests and never have a problem - like you it is not convenient to move the equipment so wireless will do
Hi I now have my HH3 plugged it to the test socket. All results as follows, taken at 18.05 this evening. Interestingly I cant use our telephone whilst test socket is in use (is this normal??) I will leave it like it is overnight, and re-test in the morning as well.
I know it has onlhy been connected for 10 mins or so, but it is already interesting to note the lack of errors at this time. However, will check again tomorrow morning. Thanks....
