Price Increase

Go to solution

Just got a new contract even though the last one does not rung out until the end of the month, so 3 questions;

Why did it start early when I told them that the other ends at the end of August?

Do I get a refund of this period?

Now got a letter stating that the prices are going up the middle of September why was I not informed of this?

If you want a new contract to start as close as possible to the end of the old one you have to tell them that and also insist it's not negotiable as it may be the operative doesn't know how to do that. I have recontracted my 18 month one which started end of May with the new start date of 14 Sept - the person couldn't understand why I wanted it then and not back on 22 July nor could she do it until speaking with her manager with the upshot being "no probs".

If the new contract is cheaper then that rate will be reflected in the next bill covering the change over with any over/under being adjusted then.

The person may have assumed you were recontracting because of the price rise so didn't mention it. The letter should refer to an option to renew the then existing contract at possibly a favourable rate. Didn't the order confirmation state the costs up to 16 Sept and after 16 Sept because mine did back in July.

Basically you need to assume the person you are speaking to doesn't have all the facts and you need to tell them exactly what you want and the preferred start date plus you can haggle about the prices as well.
