I have a Talk21 email account that is still serviced by BT Yahoo mail. I am no longer able to set up new disposable email accounts (I am only using 39 out of the 500 premitted).
A couple of years ago new disposable addresses started being created with a "@yahoo.com' suffix, since the web interface was changed for BT Yahoo mail it claims that the duffix is back to being '@yahoo.co.uk'.
If I try to create a new disposable address e.g. 'MyPrefix-abc@yahoo.co.uk' I get a message saying 'There was a problem, please provide a valid disposable address'
If I look at my existing disposable addresses that are '@yahoo.com' they now have an additional '@yahoo.co.uk' tacked on the end e.g.
MyPrefix-topix@yahoo.com is now showing as MyPrefix-topix@yahoo.com@yahoo.co.uk
Hoping one of the moderators will see this and report the problem to Yahoo.
They are not supported anymore and in the process of being withdrawn, i had an email recently on BT Mail saying they were being removed completely in January and on BT Yahoo new creation does not work after the new look. (I use both as my partner is on yahoo and her dad on bt mail where i end up as tech support).
Disposable addresses are not a stanmdard feature anymore and were used in the old times when spam was bad, now with gdpr and stuff, unsubscribe works properly and spam is low. Just create another email address which is generic like e.g. MyShoppingLists@btinternet.com and use rules to within webmail settings to put them into folders as you like.
No you're wrong. Not all disposable email addresses are being discontinued, the ones with a '@mybtinternet.com' suffix are being discontinued and I was aware of this. That mail service is provided by CP Cloud on BT's behalf.
However some email addresses are still provided by Yahoo on BT's behalf and they continue to offer disposable email addresses. It's all documented here:
The closure of the @mybtinternet disposable addresses

My issue is with the BT Yahoo email service and there is still a problem.
Creation of new disposables on Yahoo is not possible with teh new look which suggests this will be withdrawn also. My money would be on it not comign back as very few people understand it and is not a common email feature.
I suspect the facility has been withdrawn in the classic view also but they haven't bothered to update the gui as the option still appears to be available but gives the error message as posted by @SimonLum
I have asked if one of the mods could clarify if the facility should still exist or if the help page is now incorrect.
I overcame the issue of disposable address with BTYahoo Mail some time ago by creating an email address direct on Yahoo itself - can create as yahoo.com or as yahoo.co.uk
Have just checked the facility works there before posting this note and it does. I even created a new disposable address and used it just to be sure so, if you want disposable addresses then create an email address direct with Yahoo.
@licquorice could you prod the moderators again please, there hasn't been any response from them to this issue and more than a month has passed. The problem is still happening. Thanks.
