Problem installing BT Essentials Wi-Fi Extender 300

We moved house recently and I am trying to install a BT Essentials Wi-Fi Extender 300 because I do not get a wifi signal in my detached garage. We had BT Fibre installed last week so are set up with a BT Smart Hub 2. Is this compatible with the Extender that I am trying to install? I have tried absolutely everything and thought at one point that I had solved it, but am at the point of giving up and throwing the Extender in the bin!

Hi @brown_mick welcome back to the community and thanks for posting. I'm sorry to see you're having difficulty setting up the extender, it should be compatible with all makes of router. Have you done a factory reset to wipe off the previous settings to see if that helps?

Hi. I did try the factory reset, but to no avail. Does the extender revert to its original password after doing the reset?

@brown_mick, yes it should revert to the Admin password that's on the back of the extender. Have you tried both the setup methods from the user guide?

Yes, I have tried everything. I will give it one last try today and then accept that I will have to look at an alternative if I don’t get it set up successfully
