Problem with 1571 light

I have a BT Decor 2200 handset. The 1571 light is lighting up after all messages have been deleted. Also, when you lift the receiver the dial tone is interrupted which usually also means a message is waiting. 

Has anyone come across this?

Who provides your phone service?

Call diversion also gives an interrupted tone with BT Retail.

I'm with Sky, but I don't have call diversion.

Then that sounds like problem with the Sky exchange, as you should not get interrupted dial tone, which is why the phone thinks to have a call waiting. I am also not sure if its compatible with the Sky exchanges.

I have just tried switching off the router and switching it on again and that seems to have solved the problem.
