I have been told by a BT engineer that I need to have a dig organised on my property to put a new cable down for a phone line. Can anyone tell me what the process is for it? My previous engineer said he could not do the drawings because the landlord was not around to sign the consent form so they have permission to do the work.
Does another engineer need to come out and do the drawings, then get the contractors in, and then come back a second time to connect the line up, or is there a way that the number of visits can be minimised such as him installing the line when he comes to do the drawings and then the contractors can connect the cable wire up to where the line enters my property when they come to dig?
If anyone can confirm, and also if anyone knows how long the process is likely to take between getting an engineer out and then starting the dig that would be great. Originally I was told that I would have to wait 10 days for an appointment but it ended up being about 4 weeks.
