Qualified (!!) bouquet for BT customer help

My BTinternet e-mail a/c was hacked by some Ukrainian criminal last Thursday (May 22). I went online to the 'chat' helpline, following the necessary security checks, we amended password and security details andthen, to recover the contacts, drafts and e-mail from my Inbox, my issue was then escalated to level 2 (phone this time from a call centre in India) and within 24 hours, the missing data was restored. The criminal had put an e-mail address which closely resembled mine as the address to which all responses would be directed and, although the level 2 help I received deleted this from my account, it remains active some 5 days after my problem was resolved.


Full marks for BT customer care (both chat and phone) for resolving the hacked account problem but why ... OH WHY (!!) ... is the hackers account still active as proven by the e-mails demanding money being received from this address by my contacts ??
