ROUTER STATS

Go to solution

hi

About 3 months ago i was getting a lot of disconnections,i did a bit of research and i removed the bell wire and fitted a new faceplate to the master socket

The line is now very stable and i rarely get any disconnections

however i was getting wi fi dropouts from my laptop and i discovered the home hub was not set to the b/g/n setting only the b/g

I have now changed it to the b/g/n setting and the wi fi is rock solid

I re set the router about 3 days ago and i notice in the stats the noise margin is usually 2.6

tonight it is 3.3

am i best leaving it at this level or getting it fixed at 6

the beta speet test is 13.78 at 8.20pm

Re: ROUTER STATS

just leave it as it is stable and BT are trialling a noise margin of 3db for lines on 21CN.  your connection looks good

Re: ROUTER STATS

I think it will become the norm for most people so as long as line stable and download speed not affected by high crc/hec errors then the 3db will stay

Re: ROUTER STATS

It might reassure you to know that, following some minor drop-out problems, my snr eventually settled at 3dB. The hub was reset the other day (decorator in) but prior to that it had been up for over 2 months without a twitch.
