Re: £42.99 per month for basic unlimited broadband and landline! Why?

I too am unhappy with the price increases for broadband and BT sport. I phoned to commence changing providers and was quoted £538 to cancel plus a further cancellation fee for the sports package. I have been with BT since 1991;

 and am more than angry and feel ripped off.

@Stevo1250

If you cancelled within the 30 day notice period from when you received the notification about the price increase, then there should have been no cancellation charges, provided you told BT at the time, that it was the reason for cancelling.

The notifications were sent out at the beginning of December 2017.

I also contacted BT to say that I am not happy with those charges firstly by chat when I got this response Ramya: I do understand your situation that you are looking for cheaper packages So that I will call you now and transfer your call to customer option team and I will assure you that they will definitely help you with cheaper packages and better deals than other providers. Well the person I was transferred to was not able to do that - surely there must be some recourse if a BT employee makes a statement that is untrue?
