Re: ADSL getting slower and no sign of Infinity

Go to solution
You're very lucky! I am currently getting 0.27 mbs ! I used to average 7mbs so this a joke!
Many phone calls later and no further forward. They claim to have fixed a line fault and told the line needs to stabilise
For the next 3 days. I am not holding much hope. I've had this problem now for around 8 weeks!
I live in coltish all village, not far from the BT building in the village.

Re: ADSL getting slower and no sign of Infinity

I moved your post to start you own subject as other thread was 6months old and this will enable the replies to be about your connection

welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results .

are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

Re: ADSL getting slower and no sign of Infinity

Thanks for that.

I have tried connecting the Home Hub/ router direct to the BT socket where it come into the house. I have other sockets, but have nothing

plugged in to them. I now have a new BT home Hub Router 4 and have plugged that into the "Master Socket"

I have disconnect and turn off all other devices that uses the internet, ie Smart Tv, Smart Phones, Tablets.

My only PC, a Lap Top is hard wired to the Router/Home Hub with a cable to eliminate Wi Fi.

I am using the new filter as supplied by BT with my New Hub.

I did have a line fault (Intermittent Crackle) but have now been clared by BT as confirmed by a text from them yesterday morning.

I have tried the quiet test, and seems ok now. Have just checked speed at speedtest BT Wholsale and is 0.27mbs!

My Stats as follows:

ADSL Line Status
Connection Information
Line state:Connected
Connection time:0 days, 00:10:40
Downstream:14.93 Mbps
Upstream:443.9 Kbps
