Why does my not so smart hub flash orange then stays on solid green .. I've tried every thing and no luck

If, as you say 'I've tried every thing and no luck' includes a factory reset by holding in the recessed switch at the back for at least 20 seconds and still have no connection then I expect the Hub has expired.  Only thing to do in that case is call BT and ask for a replacement Hub.  Or invest in your own third-party VDSL router.
