When BT put my Infinity 2 plus youview box in to my home they did a speed test and they got 68Mbps and told me that after some time about a week it should be stable and minium should the 68Mbps but it will be higher as I am only 100 yards from box and only less then 1/2 mile away from the BT exchange.
and week later i got 74Mbps then got a new laptop and it had USB 3 so I got a TP-Link dongle and then tested the speed and I got 84.4Mbps and this went on for a year not droping below 76Mbps ..
But a week ago I did a test and I saw speeds at 41Mbps and looked on BT site to see if there was any troubles and there was and it said phonlines so I gave it until today and all clear and did and test and got the same...
I now make sure that laptop was not the the trouble and got my other laptops and they all gave around the give and take 2Mbps I looked in to the hub 5a settings and it is saying 45Mbps max ?
I did tests from 10pm to 5am to see if traffic is the trouble and no it was not.
So I phoned and been told that my line was OK which I was already knew as I did all the BT site tests but I told him all speeds I have had and that I should be 70Mbps if not higher .... he then said he would reset my hub and it took a little time and he came back and said that it will take about 1/2 hour for speed to build up and hour to fix a speed .....
will at this time I getting 44.7Mbps which a little better BUT were has my 84.4 Mbps gone then BT ?????
I feel BT must be cutting speed for many over the UK as they have droped my speed slowly over time as I did not see the diffence until this week and not happy as I am getting service that I pay for.....
Is the BT network full with the increases of BT Sports extra 15 channels and others the on Youview boxes ?
can you post stats from your hub - go to hub manager then troubleshooting then helpdesk
can you run btspeedtester and when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post results do not reset before test and test must be done with wired conenction
from your post it appears that it is your wireless devices that are ahving a problem so have you tried ethernet conenction to see if any better
Also enter your phone number HERE and post the result (remember to remove your phone number).
