Re: BT/Yahoo Email Calendar - Fixed?

I can't comment now on this as I have just been moved from BTYahoo to BT, about 8 years after BT said they were going to do this.  I am promised wonderful quality and service, but there are aspects of the BT calendar which are not as good as the BTYahoo one.  Oh well, can't have it all I suppose.

Re: BT/Yahoo Email Calendar - Fixed?

Still no joy, BT tell me the cannot get on to the system as it is Yahoo and I have not been migrated! Talked to Yahoo help  but he could not help and sent a message to another part of Yahoo. They replied (the next day) that I need to take it up with BT!!!! Just spent 40mins on hold to BT who then cut me off, redialed - another 20 mins and still in a queue.

Why is this so difficult????

Re: BT/Yahoo Email Calendar - Fixed?

Eventually got through to a BT help person. They have no information about this migration and I have been given conflicting information.

BT says 'We are about to move you from BT Yahoo to BT Mail. You'll keep the faetures you love and also get some new ones' the lady I spoke to had no information but told me that since Yahoo hold the contacts and calendar they will not transfer them because of data protection!! After another fairly lengthy hold whilst she talked to a colleague I was told that they are awaiting guidance, had had a number of calls but had no answers.

Interestingly although I canot access my calendar or contacts a few reminders that I have set still send me email reminders and when sending an email the system finds my contact when I start typing their email address!

I have emailed some directors but live in hope of an answer.  Is no one else having this problem? Does no one from BT monitor this forum? I am pleased the temperature has dropped else I fear I will explode.

I have moved you onto your own thread so that you can get answers to your specific problem.

How are you accessing your email account, is it via an email client/app or using a web browser?

Which email system are you on. Is it BTMail or BTYahoo? If  you were on BTYahoo but it is now BTMail, when were you migrated from BTYahoo.

What if anything have you tried to resolve your problem ie have you tried clearing your browsers history and cookies?

If you are using an email client/app have you seen this link and tried the advice about synching the calendar and contacts.

Re: BT/Yahoo Email Calendar - Fixed?

I am very puzzled that BT people seem to know nothing about the migration.

It was about 8 years ago, about 2012 anyway, when BT first said it would migrate BTYahoo users to BT, but I was told a couple of years later that it was on hold.  Then, to my amazement, it happened a few weeks ago.  No notice, no Q & A, just that it was done.  No data protection issues there it seems.

BT is just too big: it cannot work out which of its staff needs to know what when it comes to policies and procedures.  I know that's not helpful, but it's the reality.  It seems we just accept what happens.  As a former teacher of management, that infuriates me, but how on earth do you find out who to contact to talk through their internal systems!  The company, like all big companies, is much too opaque for that.

This does not help as it appears I have not been migrated to BT mail. The suggestions are for iOS I am using my desktop with Firefox 79. Following the links Ireturn to the same BT Yahoo! mail with no contacts or calendar showing when I click on the icons.

After a very helpful call from BT I have found the problem - Adblock Plus was stopping it working. I don't know if Adblock has changed or whether more sites are using new coding that stops them working when an ad blocker is present.  My guess is the later as another site I use regularly stopped working a couple of days ago until I unblocked them!
