Re: Bt Infinity 1 super slow speed at 3.7mbps and regular disconnections

try www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk to try and see the speed others get in your area. I have a HH5 and get about 70mbps. I use a dualband dongle which can access the higher frequency channel in the hub. This really helps. I have a split socket at the line into the house and run a cable from the broadband output directly to the hub. No filters needed. Hope this helps.

when i got the order confirmation from bt they estimated i would get between 12 - 19 with a minimum of 10Mb, so better than the stats above.

what i actually get is a consistent 4Mb down and 1Mb up.  it's been like that since install in friday last week.

my troubleshoot stats are down 3.848, up 1.1146, with noise of 6.3/7.3 and line attenuation of 19.7/39.2.

Re: Bt Infinity 1 super slow speed at 3.7mbps and regular disconnections

Can you go to hub manager then troubleshooting then helpdesk and post 1-12

was this self install?  If so are your using the test socket with a new filter?  If not can you move hub to test socket and post the results

the estimate you mention is just the checker results rounded up which is normal

i am using a new faceplate like the one below on the right so do not use a filter (stats above are just using the top socket on this faceplate)

Sockets that don't need a microfilter

as i already has that faceplate when the bt engineer came he just plugged in the HH5.

Re: Bt Infinity 1 super slow speed at 3.7mbps and regular disconnections

I would try test socket with filter as that rules out the mk3 faceplate although unlikely and also your internal wiring as causing the low speed problem - then post stats

if still no better then you need to phone customer services and get engineer visit but you then should not be charged as problem outside your home

these are the results using the test socket with a microfilter

seems like one of the noise margin readings is a bit better but my speed is the same, slighty worse 3.5Mb down and under 1Mb up

i am a long way from the cabinet - about 2km.  is my speed slow even taking that into account, in your opinion.

thanks for all your help.

Re: Bt Infinity 1 super slow speed at 3.7mbps and regular disconnections

You are well below your estimated speed so you need to phone customer services and complain and get an engineer visit to try and get your connection within BT estimated speed
