Re: Complaints: Why is BT Customer Service SO bad?

We were due to have a home move, 1 day before due to move BT text to say move will now be in 2 weeks time.

We call BT to see what's wrong and 5 times we were either cut off by the advisor or dumped back into a que. to say we were frustrated was an understatement, the fact that BT used to mean British Telecome is a joke as non of the advisors we went through to were even in Britain

After the 6th advisor answered we now wanted to just cancel and were passed to a "manager" Philip who claimed he couldn't cancel our line right now until home move had gone through and he would call me direct the next day which he didn't, we now have an email saying we owe money for cancelling our line

After calling the complaint line and being on hold for 36 minutes BT decided to just drop my call as it was 8pm

Absolute joke of a company

Re: Complaints: Why is BT Customer Service SO bad?

It's my opinion that they are so bad because they know that they don't really need to make an effort to be good!  Most people will put up with the poor customer service because we don't have to contact them too often - the service delivery generally plods along without too many problems and by the time we contact CS we're getting fed up and their mediocre CS then comes across as bad.

i'm not defending BT - they need to improve CS so that they do what they say they are going to do, don't make promises that they have no intention of keeping etc.

i wonder whether companies such as Plusnet, which advertises the excellence of their CS, has a service delivery which means that you are in constant contact with CS!
