This is exactly the same problem I have. Have had to change my BTID as I had forgotten my email password. Now I can get my emails on the computer by logging in using the new password, however my IPad still uses the old password , which was saved, that I don’t remember, plus my new iPhone will NOT recognise the new password. I am completely stumped!

There is often (it seems) a sync issue when changing the BTID password, trying to alter the email password as well. The BTID and email account are separate items, hence can have different passwords.

Are you saying you can check emails via BTID access to the email icon?, and that your iDevices use the old password? I assume that you have to enter the passwords on your iDevices?

Is your mail account BTYahoo or BTMail? Webmail access will show a Yahoo image for BTYahoo.

If it's BTYahoo, try the password reset :-

https://register.btinternet.com/cgi-bin/chpasswdsso

which includes forgotten password.

I have moved you onto your own thread so that you get the relevant assistance to your problem.

It would appear that your email account password is having a problem synchronising across the servers.

There is nothing any of the forum users will be able to do to help you so I have notified the moderators of the forum about your problem. Once they have read this they may be able to help.

They are a BT UK based team and if they can help they will reply via this thread asking you to contact them via a link. They are very busy at present so once you have replied to them by the link, it can take 48 hours for them to re-contact you.

It appears it’s a BT Yahoo account and using the link for the BT Yahoo password reset has solved the problem.

many thanks for this I’ve been pulling my hair out for a couple of days and I don’t have much anyway!
