Re: Internet issues....

I see Looks like I need to jump on the bandwagon as another with speed issues. Best effort speed test says up to 21mbps max and download speed 12.1mbps. Which could be much better but reasonable I suppose.

Problem is noticeable particularly when watching video either on one of the news channels or on YouTube video keeps stalling either completely for a minute or so while it buffers  or give a stutter every few seconds. Using AMD Semperon processor 3000+ 2000Ghz so should be OK for streaming video. if I go to a non bt speedtest dowload is around 6-8mbps.

Here are stats first from Router second from BT speed test

Type:    PPPoA
Modulation:    G.992.5 Annex A
Latency type:    Fast
Noise margin (Down/Up):    8.8 dB / 6.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up):    16.6 dB / 8.4 dB
Output power (Down/Up):    16.4 dBm / 12.0 dBm
FEC Events (Down/Up):    0 / 0
CRC Events (Down/Up):    120 / 33
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote):    0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):    0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote):    0 / 0
HEC Events (Down/Up):    523 / 10
Error Seconds (Local/Remote):    96 / 1

Noise seems good but ip profile seems low at 13.82 on a 21mbps line. I know I will not get the full 21 but I should get more than 12.9 surely.

Any suggestions please

For mods can profile be increased please

Re: Internet issues....

I move post so you have your own thread

you have missed of your conenction speed and time

your profile is 88.2% of your conenction speed so to get a higher profile you need to increase your connection speed

are you conencted to the test or master socket?  do you have other sockets apart from the master?

Re: Internet issues....

yours stats look ok apart from the slightly high noise margin at 8.8.  with your attenuation as you say a conenction speed of about 20/21mb would be expected.

if you are not having problems with drops in connection then just stay connected for the 3+ days, repost stats to show stable connection and then contact the mods and get noise margin reset to 6 which should give the speed increase.  profile will immediately follow giving faster download speed

contact mods

can take up to 3 working days for mods to contact you

Re: Internet issues....

once you get reset to 6db and then can maintain a stable conenction your noise margin may drop down to 3db which will give a bit more speed but only if line is stable with few errors on 6db

Re: Internet issues....

Very many thanks for quick reply.

Before my stupidity line had been up forabout 3 months with no dropped sessions so I think line is stable

So will pass to mods anyway to see if it helps

Thanks again

Re: Internet issues....

you must wait 3+days before contacting the mods as they must see a stable connection posted here before they can reset your noise margin

Re: Internet issues....

if your conenction is as stable as you say then you could contact the mods as it will probably take at least 3 days for them to contact you and by then you could post your router stats with the needed 3+ days connection time
