Landline problems ongoing

Go to solution

I had previous contact with David earlier in year regarding a long standing persistent fault of intermittent failure to break the dial tone. This was resolved in late May after 5 engineer visits that only showed all my in house wiring was OK. Master socket was also changed. Line card equipment changed at exchange 3 times. Line then seemed OK till 20 Jul. Then more problems:

20 July to 27 Jul – Numerous dropped internet connection although hub working OK. Telephone calls very noisy

28 July to 14 Aug not used as on holiday – BT closed fault

14 Aug – Fault persisted – drop outs seemed to happen randomly and also when call made or received. Again reported as not resolved VOL013-*********

Test showed fault OUTSIDE of property

BT closed fault a few days later

21 Aug – Fault reported again as not resolved VOL051-********. Again told that test showed fault OUTSIDE of property

BT closed fault a few days later.

Fault follow up calls from BT’s overseas call centre not helpful as the callers English was difficult to understand and they did not seem to understand the problems

28 Aug to 31 Aug no known problems.

1 Sep to 4 Sep – Phone noisy again, many internet drop outs and noisy phone.

4 Sep – Old fault of intermittent failure to break dial tone started again

Fault again reported by responding to last SMS message.

Seems to be a lot of issues with my line. Please can you help resolve.

Thanks

All you can do is get another engineer out again it sounds like an intermittent fault which can be hard to find
