Lost Contacts in New BT Mail

I have followed the instructions in https://www.bt.com/help/email/we-ve-updated-your-email for my iphone 7 but appear to have lost some of my contacts. Can these be recovered?

The contacts appear to be still in my webmail.  Can a mod please get in touch with me ASAP?

Hi @mmoore welcome to the forum and I've moved your post to create your own thread as the issue is different.
You should be able to access all your contacts via webmail. 

If you are using the Mail app on your phone then it will only have contacts that you have stored on your device.

I think I have sorted it. Go to https://www.bt.com/help/email/we-ve-updated-your-email

Then go to 

Updating CardDAV settings on your iOS device

Effectively, a second account is added. This migrates the lost contacts from webmail to the the iphone (or ipad, I guess).
