Re: Query on "Minimum speed guarantee"

OP??

I'm here - just manged to get on line, first time for the last two days!

 thanks all for your responses.:-

  • Normal ADSL connection
  • Distance from exchange given to me by BT Engineer.
  • Wetness getting into joints also considered and confirmed by them that was not the problem.
  •  Following fourth engineers visit managed download speed of 6.85 and upload of 0.50 this has now "settled" at 1.88 and 048.Suggested by the Case Manager" that it would go down after initial high of 6.85 obscure reason for this which I couldn't follow, but"whilst all the faults are detected".
  • Starwire 2000 - what I was saying was BT  spend some money on old cabinets and cabling therefrom; particularly the network cables and rid them of "faults".

Anyway at the end of the  conversation with the case manger to acheive the minimum guaranteed speed I must switch off all iPhones, iPads, wireless printers - anything connected to internet except main PC, to maintain the 0.5 Mbps.
